Japan launched Satellite from Tanegashima Space Centre
Japanese spy satellites launched its fifth runway Saturday in an attempt to strengthen their ability to gather intelligence independently, the government said.
Domestically and developed H-2A rocket carrying the satellite lifted 565 million U.S. dollars from a space center in the southern island of Tanegashima, said Hisashi Michigami, an official in the Prime Minister.
"The satellite will gather intelligence on our defense and diplomatic purposes," said Michigami. "We hope to increase our ability to gather intelligence on our own. Gathering information is crucial to our national security."Michigami said the launch was a success.
Japan has long placed on U.S. intelligence agencies. But he released his first pair of spy satellites in 2003, driven by concern over the missile program of North Korea.
North Korea shocked Tokyo in 1998, when a missile test over Japan. Since then, Japan has launched spy satellites, especially to see developments in North Korea. In April this year, flew a long-range missile North Korea over Japan and landed in the Pacific Ocean.
Michigami said Japan's three spy satellites work. The satellite failed to respond quarter of 2007 due to apparent electrical problems. Each spy satellites will take about five years, he said.
Japan has been one of the world's leading space powers Nations, which launched its first satellite in 1970. However, it has been hard to get out from under the shadow of China in recent years.
While China sent its first man into orbit in 2003, Japan has yet to send astronauts on their own, even though Japan had joined the U.S. space missions.
Last year Japan's parliament voted to allow its space programs, used for defense for the first time as part of a push from Tokyo to give its military a greater role internationally.
In January this year, Japan launched its first satellite to control greenhouse gases, a tool to help researchers better assess the global warming emissions have been taken and how much is absorbed by oceans and forests.
The country also plans to have a two-legged robot walking on the moon around 2020.

Again NASA Launch Space Shuttle On Monday
NASA tries again to launch the space shuttle Endeavor, Monday, despite a good chance of rain, threatening to delay the mission for the fifth time in power.
The rain is a particular danger to the plans out today because of an exposed propeller in the nose of the craft. The plastic usually propeller guards - one of 44 small rocket thrusters on the spacecraft used for minor changes course - came yesterday during the failed fourth launch Endeavor lose.
Although the case does not pose any risk to the launch yesterday (the label is designed to fail during startup anyway) if moisture into the booster, which can freeze in the ice and make the propeller useless. This means that if rain falls on the pillow, the agency probably will have to suspend today's launch is scheduled for 6:51 EDT (2251 GMT).
"The idea is that if it rains after starting with a risk of moisture in the fuel and you do not want to freeze," says NASA spokesman Allard Beutel. NASA would probably not start with a propeller with impaired mobility, but not essential for takeoff.
While Sunday's launch attempt was canceled because of thunderstorms near the launch pad and landing here at Kennedy Space Center, there really is no rain fell Endeavor Launch 39A.
"If we had rain on the platform would have found us with security," said Beutel of today's launch plans. The rain is a serious threat to attempt escape Endeavor today, with a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms forecast. Despite the gloomy forecast, NASA decided to start feeding the shuttle's massive external tank in preparation for the launch this morning, just in case the weather cooperates.
"They thought it was worth at least take the opportunity," said Beutel. If you cancel today's launch, NASA could try again tomorrow if the ground staff have enough time to move the engine cover. This procedure takes three to four hours, because the giant rotating service structure of scaffolding at the launch pad to be moved into place to provide access to computers on the nose of Endeavor.
If the process can be completed at the time, NASA may be able to push the launch window for a few days, but the shuttle is scheduled to retire in order to allow a ship to unmanned Russian cargo launcher space station later this month.
"We can talk with the Russians, and maybe we can get some extra time," said Beutel.Often delayed Endeavor's mission is to build up a visit to the ISS to install the supply of spare parts and a new research field that must be submitted by the Japanese Kibo laboratory. Today is the fifth attempt to take off the ship hit in their mission STS-127, which was held due to bad weather and an irritating gas leak, which has been repaired.

NASA Finds Water Found On Moon
A "significant amount" of water ice exist on the moon, the U.S. space agency said Friday it announced a leap forward in space exploration and raise hopes of a permanent lunar base.
Preliminary data from a probe of the moon shows the mission succeeded exposed water in a permanently shaded crater, "NASA said in a statement."This discovery opens a new chapter in our understanding of the moon," it added, as scientists celebrated the landmark discovery ecstasy.
The data was taken after NASA sent two spacecraft crashed into the lunar service last month in a dramatic experiment to investigate the nearest neighbor to the ground water. One rocket hit Cabeus crater near the lunar south pole, around 5600 miles (9,000 km) per hour.
The impact sent a huge cloud of billowing material from the crater, which has not seen the sun for billions of years. The rocket was followed four minutes later with a spacecraft equipped with cameras to record the impact.
"We're ecstatic," said Anthony Colaprete, the project scientist and principal investigator of $ 79 million LCROSS mission.
"Several lines of evidence indicate water was present in both high plume of steam and the angle of the ejecta curtain created by the impact of LCROSS Centaur.
"The concentration and distribution of water and other substances that require further analysis, but it is safe to say Cabeus the water," said Colaprete.
Researchers had previously theorized that with the exception of the possibility of ice on the bottom of craters, the moon was completely dry.Finding water in the Earth's natural satellite is a major advance in space exploration.
"We're unlocking the mysteries of our nearest neighbor, and by extension, the solar system," said Michael Wargo, chief scientist of the moon at NASA Headquarters in Washington.
"A thorough understanding of the LCROSS data may take some time. The rich data," said Colaprete.
"Along with water in Cabeus, there are exciting hints of other substances. Permanently shaded regions of the moon is really cold traps, collecting and preserving material billions of years."
Only 12 men, all Americans have always been on the moon, and the last to set foot there in 1972, at the end of the Apollo missions. But NASA's ambitious plans to put U.S. astronauts back to the moon in 2020 to establish manned lunar base for further exploration of Mars as part of the Constellation project is increasingly questioned.
NASA's budget is currently too small to pay for the Orion capsule, a more sophisticated and comprehensive overview of the Apollo lunar module and the Ares I and Ares V launch vehicles to bring the spacecraft into orbit.
A number of review panel appointed by President Barack Obama said that existing budgets are not large enough to finance a return mission in 2020.
