Air India ready to deploy additional flights

Air India, a National carrier, said on Tuesday that it had both crew and aircraft on stand a by for immediate deployment should Jet Airways be forced to cancel more flights in the coming days.

Jitendra Bhargava, an air India spokesperson said that they are in talks with the government and jet airways officials and also said that in the event of need of operate special flights to help stranded passengers, they do so for which they have kept on stand by aircraft and crew.

As per Bhargava, the carrier had already been accommodating as many stranded passengers as possible in not only on the existing domestic routes but also overseas flights that transit through Indian cities.

After the pilots of Jet Airways went on mass sick leave, around 20000 passengers were stranded and it leadings to cancellation of nearly 200 flights domestic and international both.
